My internship at Infinite Fitness gave me a great opportunity early on in my education to get a quality hands-on experience in the fitness world. I believe I got the best of both worlds in gaining more knowledge of the body and developing the soft skills of what it takes to be a good coach. As part of my course work assigned to me, I read a great functional training book by coach Mike Boyle. Coupling this information from the book with applying it in real time with clients helped me retain that information even more. In addition, I got the opportunity to develop the soft skills of being a coach through leading group workout sessions, and helping out clients in a semi-private setting. What I appreciated the most is this gave me the opportunity to make mistakes in a real-life setting and learn from them, which is such a powerful form of teaching. Ultimately, this internship has grown my confidence as a coach and encourages me to keep on pursuing the ultimate goal of changing people’s lives.

I started my internship at Infinite Fitness and Sports Performance in May of 2023. I actually applied at the very last minute, right at the end of my spring semester, and was fortunate enough to be accepted into the summer program.
At the time, I was heading into my senior year at Bridgewater State University, where I studied Exercise Physiology. Growing up, school was never my strong suit. Even during my first year and a half of college, I struggled. It wasn’t until I began diving into my Exercise Physiology courses that things really started to click. From there, my grades completely turned around—I went from being just an average student to making the Dean’s List every semester.
The internship gave me the chance to take everything I was learning in the classroom and apply it in real time, which took my understanding to another level. What stood out most was that this internship never felt like the kind where you’re just stuck doing the “busy work” or being the extra set of hands. Instead, I was taught not only the workouts and the science behind them, but also how to coach effectively. Most importantly, I learned what it truly means to be a coach—the responsibility, the impact you can have, and how much of a difference you can make in someone’s life.
Today, I’m fortunate enough to be the Coaching Director at Infinite Fitness and Sports Performance. Here, I have the opportunity to keep growing as a coach, while also becoming a better person, mentor, and father. Honestly, I don’t know where I would be as a coach today if it weren’t for the lessons and skills I gained through Infinite Fitness.

My 12-week internship at Infinite Fitness and Sports Performance was an incredible experience. As a coach, I had the opportunity to lead sessions, create programming, and work closely with clients, which allowed me to develop both professionally and personally. I gained extensive knowledge in strength and conditioning principles and learned how to apply them scientifically for athletes and adults alike. Beyond the technical skills, I improved my communication and interpersonal abilities, building meaningful connections with clients and teammates. This internship truly strengthened my confidence, expertise, and passion for helping others achieve their goals.
