With the start of the spring kicking off in March, Infinite Fitness wants to recognize all of its freshmen who made their respective varsity teams, particularly Skyla Berube as the Athlete of the Month of March.
Berube has gotten off to a hot start on her season, batting .587 with four homers, eight doubles and 15 RBIs through 12 games. All the while maintaining an A average in her honors classes.
“I believe Infinite has played a big part in her success in softball and school because of the great work ethic it has instilled in her to keep pushing herself to achieve her goals,” Skyla’s dad Harvey said. “Not to mention how much strength she has gained all around since she has gone to Infinite.”
Berube is among several other freshman to make the varsity cut, including Luke Bala at Bishop Stang and DJ Perron of Diman.
“Skyla came in as a young athlete and her hard work should serve as an example for all younger athletes,” Infinite coach Mike Fernandes said. “She’s shown that if you are willing to put forth the work that others are not, you can be successful even playing against much older competition.”
Infinite would also like to recognize New Bedford’s Alex Soqui for committing to Simmons College to pitch for their softball squad!
